Who we are |
We can learn from history, but we can also deceive ourselves when we selectively take evidence from the past to justify what we have already made up our minds to do.
-Margaret MacMillan (2008)
Our History
The idea for a history site like Hidden History was born in early 2017, however, Hidden History did not begin until March of 2018. Hidden History started for multiple reasons. I have always loved history, and I enjoy researching and learning about it. I also tired of certain history channels that stopped showing history series and started doing series on pawnshops or aliens.
At Hidden History we share knowledge on unknown historical facts and events with others who might not have otherwise known. When I started Hidden History, I planned on it being a small, local page that hopefully would have a few hundred followers. However, I changed how I was doing things on the page, added a new writer, and we quickly started to grow. Today we have multiple writers, and are currently the largest history site of its kind. Our audience is even made up of numerous politicians, writers, historians, and educators of all levels.
We have grown fast and reach so many people every day. We have expanded to Instagram LinkedIn, and YouTube. Our current reach is roughly 500,000 to 1,500,000 people monthly.

Our Goal
Our goal is to improve history education and to make history fun for the masses. Since we were founded, our articles have been read by millions of people across the globe. We offer our readers a unique experience with history. Many history sites will simply provide you with stories based on what that site believes you should read. However, Hidden History seeks to gain insight from our readers by asking for topics and suggestions. Our articles, videos, and informational blurbs try to cater to everyone we reach. Hidden History’s aim is to inform readers on topics about which they desire. We take well-known topics and offer aspects or facts on the person, place, or event that most people never knew. We attempt to keep our information non-political and present all the facts as truthfully and openly possible.
l love this site. It makes me stop and think.
